Every semester we like to meet and greet with the first semester students and welcome them with a couple of drinks on us - a reward for getting through the second weekend of Intro to Law.
This semester we are changing it up a bit, but we will still be helping you celebrate!
On the Saturday afternoon, 22 August, we are inviting all of our members for an evening of celebration and networking, including some light alcoholic refreshments and pizza. The event will be held in Emily's Cafe at the Emily Mac building from4:45pm to 8pm.
This event is completely free for members so we hope to see you all there.

Would you like to improve your assignment writing skills?
We remember how daunting it was to tackle that essay or report: where to begin? - How to make things flow? - How to keep it simple yet accurate? The RMIT Law Student's Society and the Victoria Law Foundation are here again to help.
Come to a 1-hour short course in Plain Language writing presented by the VLF!
The session is free! All RMIT JD students are invited to attend.
We ran a plain language writing seminar last semester with so much positive feedback and interest that we are running another session this semester. This time, it will be before those final assignments are due. The session will cover some additional material so it will be useful whether or not you were able to attend last time. The VLF will give practical advice to ensure that your writing is clear, engaging and easily understood by the intended audience.Apart from helping you hone your assignment writing skills, it will be a great opportunity to become familiar with the practical side of working in the legal sector.
It will also help you learn the skills of successful communication with clients. One of the main functions of the VLF is to increase accessibility of the law to the community. The plain language training sessions is one of the ways they achieve this.
