Later Lawyers Networking Lunch- Tuesday 21 April, 1-2pm
Later Lawyers’ networking lunches offer the perfect opportunity for later lawyers to get together and share their experiences and hear from a guest speaker who has also entered the law later in life.
This session's speaker will be Joh Kirby- Executive Director of the Victoria Law Foundation. A lawyer and plain language advocate, Joh Kirby has led the foundation since 2008. Her commitment to improving legal communication has helped establish the foundation in its role as Victoria’s only dedicated community legal education body. In 2010, Joh was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to investigate best practice in community legal education. She often speaks on the subject of plain language and the law, sharing the experiences of the foundation with other organisations in Victoria and at international conferences. Most recently, she worked with the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) to improve their online communication. Before her appointment, Joh was the foundation’s Grants Manager and a lawyer at Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Joh is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
RMIT LSS loves to share things about the law and RMIT
