Every semester we like to meet and greet with the first semester students and welcome them with a couple of drinks on us - a reward for getting through the second weekend of Intro to Law.
This semester we are changing it up a bit, but we will still be helping you celebrate!
On the Saturday afternoon, 22 August, we are inviting all of our members for an evening of celebration and networking, including some light alcoholic refreshments and pizza. The event will be held in Emily's Cafe at the Emily Mac building from4:45pm to 8pm.
This event is completely free for members so we hope to see you all there.

LSS End of Exams Drinks
Please join the LSS for the END OF SEMESTER DRINKS at Marrakech Cocktail Bar on the 26 June 2015 from 7:30pm. There will be plenty of beer, wine, champagne and spirits! Plus we will be having shisha pipes and canapés!!

Free training session in plain language writing
Find out about plain language writing in this free one-hour training session presented by Victoria Law Foundation. You will learn how to write clearly and effectively to best communicate your message to a specific audience. Designed for RMIT JD students, the session will most benefit first year students wanting tips on assignment writing, and more senior students who are looking to develop their practical skills.
For those who are OUA students the lectures will be recorded and slides will be uploaded online.

Free Public Lecture – Chief Justice Robert French
Melbourne Law School is pleased to invite you to the 2015 Harold Ford Memorial Lecture.
The speaker is The Honourable Chief Justice Robert French AC, Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, who will speak on “Trusts and Statutes”.
This is a free public lecture but registration is required. Following the lecture, you are invited to attend a dinner with Chief Justice French, the Dean and other members of Melbourne Law School and other guests – payment details for the dinner are below.

The 2015 Walk for Justice will be held on Tuesday 12 May in ten locations across Australia to help support the vital work of Justice Connect, JusticeNet SA and QPILCH. The Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle walks are important fundraisers for Justice Connect. The Walk will conclude with a light breakfast at 8:30am, and there will be great photo opportunities in all three scenic locations.
The legal sectors support of, and participation in, the Walk has been critical to its success since the event began in 2008.
