Commencing first years Intro Weekend Drinks!!!!
The LSS is hosting our first event for this year after the SECOND intro weekend. ALL current JD students are welcome. Please come and join us at Blue Moon Bar (across the road from Building 13) on Sunday the 12th of April, after classes finish.
This will be a chance to socialise amongst other first years, to join up to the LSS and LSS members will be there if you have any questions.
College of Law - Apply Online for their upcoming March courses
The College of Law is now offering a fully online enrolment process, from application through to the submission of FEE-HELP forms. The application is quick, simple and will take you less than 15 minutes to complete! That means it's never been easier to enroll in our upcoming part-time online course starting on 16 March and full-time online course starting 23 March 2015.
If you’re in the final semester of your law degree at RMIT and only have two electives remaining you may also be eligible to enrol now.

Take a tour of Leo Cussen Centre for Law’s training facilities in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD and listen to presentations about our comprehensive and highly respected Practical Training Courses. Learn more about the Leo Cussen Centre for Law experience and how you will learn to practise law in a very professional, yet friendly and engaging environment. You will also have the opportunity to meet with current Leo Cussen Centre for Law trainees, along with graduates who are now practising law.

Southern Cross University Intervarsity Moot in May
Southern Cross University is holding an intervarsity moot in May at their campus on the Gold Coast to which we have been invited to send competitors. Here's the details:
WHAT: SCU Mooting Competition, torts and criminal law. Teams participate in three moots across the weekend. Optional cocktail and networking evening on Saturday night.
WHEN: 1 - 3 May
WHERE: Southern Cross University, Gold Coast
WHO: Teams are maximum three members
HOW MUCH: Two nights accommodation on offer for $105 pp
DEADLINES: Registration of interest must be completed by 10 April.

Please remember that mooting requires a commitment of:
· Prep for 3 – 4 days as you will need to write a submission and practice with your team and a competition time of 3 days.
Moot Practice Wednesday 8 April 5-8pm 13.03.13
Please join us for a chance to practice your advocacy skills with some informal moot training. You can come and watch of prepare either side of the case.
For mooters it will be 10 minutes, save one minute for rebuttal for the appellant. One person per side, student judges.

Client interview competition
The College of Law are teaming up with the RMIT LSS to our fifth bi-annual Client Interview Competition.
All RMIT and OUA JD Students are invited to compete
The winner and runner-up will be eligible to represent RMIT LSS at the Australian Law Students’ Association in Sydney 6-12 July. Once you have registered you will be given a 30 minute slot between 6pm-9pm on the night of the competition.
Dates: Thursday 9 April & Tuesday 14 April
Location: The College of Law, Level 6 459 Collins Street
