ABOUT US

The RMIT University Law Students' Society ('RLSS') was established in 2009, and continues as an independent representative body for undergraduate and postgraduate law students.
RMIT Law Students' Society (RLSS) was founded in 2009 to provide a gateway to life within law school and the legal industry. Since then, we have expanded our networks and outreach to improve opportunities for RMIT law students.

We work closely with national and international law firms, practical legal training institutions, and not-for-profit organizations to provide our members with access to a wide range of opportunities. We are committed to supporting our community and providing students with the resources they need to succeed.

RLSS offers career and networking opportunities, internal competitions, equity and diversity initiatives, education assistance and advocacy, and social connection. We are an academic society affiliated with the RMIT University Student Union (RUSU).

SEXUAL HARASSMENT MISSION STATEMENT

The Victorian Law Students' Society (VicLSS) is a group of law students from across Victoria who are committed to addressing the issue of sexual harassment and inappropriate sexual behavior within the legal profession. The RMIT Law Students' Society (RLSS) is a proud member of the VicLSS and is committed to its mission of creating a safe and inclusive environment for all law students.

Together, the VicLSS and LSS can speak up against inappropriate behavior, advocate for change from our institutions, and make a positive step towards creating a better future for all law students. As a collective, we have released the attached mission statement as the first step in our ongoing commitment to addressing the issue of sexual harassment within our universities, student cohorts, and in the legal profession.
