RMIT LAW STUDENTS' SOCIETY

PUBLICATIONS

The LSS has remained pursuing our goal to help our peers get the most out of their law studies, regardless of circumstance - this being our annual McPherson's Papers, First Year Guide, Competitions Handbook and Careers & Clerkships Guide. We also have a monthly newsletter for which you can subscribe to here.

We also recommend you visit the Australian Law Students' Association's publications and the Victorian Law Foundation resources.

First year guide

As the title suggests, the first-year law guide is perhaps a necessity for those beginning their law studies. It contains tips and advice for students, as well as an introduction to the legal career.

McPherson's papers

Every year, the LSS holds an essay competition, inviting students to submit their high-graded work. The winning entries are then selected to be published in the McPherson’s Papers, the society’s law journal. The McPherson’s Papers is a greatly anticipated publication which recognises and celebrates the hard work and academic talent of RMIT law students.

Careers & CLERKSHIPS Guide

The careers & clerkships guide gives a detailed insight on the pathway to legal practice. It takes students through CV preparations, explores opportunities as well as introducing Clerkships and Practical Legal Training. This publication features our sponsor firms which makes for great exposure towards students and interested applicants.

Competitions handbook
