The First Nations portfolio promotes the interests of Indigenous students within RMIT University, through events, workshops and advocacy.
The First Nations portfolio created in 2021 was established to better connect the students to the LSS and GSBL. Generally, other portfolios will collaborate with the First Nations portfolio to ensure events or space better cater to the need of Indigenous students and are respectful and inclusive. It seeks to organise events which raise awareness for Indigenous related issues.

This year's theme - #getupstandupshowup - inspires all of us to advocate for institutional, structural, collaborative and cooperative change while celebrating those who have already driven and led change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities over generations.
